Actuarial Intern, Retirement Consulting - Winter 2024As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting our Consulting Retirement team, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.This position is Hybrid.Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.Aon is in the business of better decisionsAt Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.What the day will look like<ul><li>Involvement in actuarial valuations for funding purposes for pension plans;</li><li>Involvement in actuarial valuations for accounting purposes;</li><li>Involvement in the preparation of actuarial costings and projections;</li><li>Provide routine technical and analytical support to ensure the continuous efficient operation of our clients' pension plan arrangements;</li><li>Read and interpret pension plan texts;</li><li>Year-end update of plan records, including the reconciliation of the membership, contributions and trust fund;</li><li>Completing government filings with pension regulators;</li><li>Calculate benefit entitlements and prepare option packages on retirement, termination, death and marriage breakdown;</li><li>Participating in internal seminars regarding current industry issues and technical training; and</li><li>Working with a variety of Excel-based actuarial tools.</li></ul>Skills and experience that will lead to success<ul><li>Good oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment;</li><li>Detail-oriented and good organizational skills;</li><li>Good knowledge of Excel and Word; and</li><li>Students should be enrolled in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, or Business program.</li></ul>How we support our colleaguesIn addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
