The Senior Actuarial Analyst will work on different areas of actuarial practice related to the Underwriting Department for Health Reinsurance business using actuarially and statistically accepted methods. They will work closely with different members of the team and will be supervised by both the Actuarial Assistant Manager(s) and the Actuarial Manager.They are expected to work independently at times and under more supervision depending on the nature of the project.What you doThe Senior Actuarial Analyst is expected to work on various projects and tasks handled by the Actuarial team, which includes, but is not limited to the following:<ul><li>Developing, testing and maintaining the pricing tools used by internal and external underwriters</li><li>Maintaining and enhancing the other models and tools used in the department</li><li>Assisting in the reporting of reinsurance statements</li><li>Analyzing reinsurance treaties – new opportunities and renewals</li><li>Carrying out pricing exercises and setting the book rates for different products and markets</li><li>Portfolio monitoring & profitability analysis</li><li>Assisting in underwriting and pricing large policies / special arrangements</li><li>Carrying out experience analyses</li><li>Assisting in the reserving exercises</li></ul>When carrying out these tasks, they are required to:<ul><li>Maintain proper documentation of all work performed and prepare manuals / technical sheets when needed</li><li>Adhere to professional standards when communicating findings and recommendations</li></ul>What you bring<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree; Certification in Actuarial Science background preferred</li><li>4 years of relevant experience, particularly in health insurance. Good knowledge of reinsurance principles is a plus.</li><li>Fluency in English and Arabic</li><li>High analytical skills and numerical ability, including analyzing and interpreting complex data</li><li>A high degree of proficiency and experience in Excel and in VBA (or other programming languages like R and SQL) are required. Job purpose:Responsible for supporting on local statutory valuations and quarterly GAAP close of all Gulf countries within regulatory deadlines in accordance with prescribed regulations/principles with clear explanation to various stakeholders.Assist in review of new regulations related to actuarial including impact analysis. Carry out experience studies to propose best estimate assumptions for Statutory and GAAP Valuations and Value of New Business (VNB).
