Lead Pricing Actuary

Job Description

The Alternative Solutions pricing team will develop and execute market-leading pricing capabilities for any structured (re)insurance solution, both prospective and retrospective. Achieving pricing excellence will be a key contributor to enable SCOR to meet its long-term growth and profit targets.

Responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Working as a business partner with the underwriting team to secure understanding of risk through unbiased, technical risk assessment of structured (re)insurance solutions.
  • Providing structural advice, technical support, and contributing new business ideas.
  • Collaborating with pricing actuaries globally who assess standard reinsurance structures with the same underlying exposure.
  • Strengthening pricing excellence by continuously enhancing pricing methodology for structured reinsurance.
  • Contributing to and improving advanced pricing tools for structured reinsurance, supplementary to standard corporate pricing tools.
  • Creating viable and innovative solutions that outperform competitors and differentiate SCOR.
  • Participating in feedback loops with underwriting, claims, reserving, finance, and accumulations to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
  • Leading projects, interacting closely with other regions and working with P&C Operations and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required experience & competencies:

  • In-depth reinsurance pricing experience gained through at least five years of pricing activities at a global reinsurer, ideally in pricing structured reinsurance.
  • Profound expertise in a statistical computing language like Python or R, with solid programming experience and knowledge of code collaboration tools like GIT.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to convey complex methods and ideas effectively to a broad variety of stakeholders.
  • Able to withstand pressure and complete tasks within deadlines, bringing a positive attitude to address challenges.
  • Ideally, exposure to working in multiple geographies.

Required Education

  • Fully qualified actuary in a globally recognized actuarial body.
