Actuary (Reserving, Remote from EMEA)

Who are we?

Wakam is a European B2B2C insurer that designs white label insurance products for its partners (e-retailers, brokers and fintechs/insurtechs, etc.). Our insurance products are embedded in the products or services offered to the end-customer.

We operate in 32 European countries with the majority of our turnover generated outside France.

We provide most of our products through API, and hosts white label insurance solutions via our Play&Plug technology platform.

βŒ– The Mission

You will report to the Reserving squad of the Wakam Underwriting Office, whose main tasks are to :

  • Carry out technical/actuarial analyses to improve the robustness of quarterly reserving evaluations
  • Prepare, analyse and check Best Estimate calculations for the economic balance sheet and Solvency 2 reporting purposes
  • Participate in monthly monitoring of technical indicators (frequencies, average costs, IBNR consumption rates, etc.)
  • Help improve provisioning processes and tools
  • Validate the quality of the data used for calculations

✯ The Profile we are looking at

  • 5 years' higher education: Actuary, Mathematics, Statistics or Econometrics
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in non-life insurance reserving is required
  • Proficiency in SAS, R and SQL query and modeling languages
  • Fluency in English

Your working mindset:

  • Ability to analyse and synthetise
  • Good interpersonal skills for teamwork, but also autonomous and able to work independently
  • Be methodical, rigorous and articulate when presenting results
