In this role, you won’t just be crunching numbers - you’ll be driving real business impact through pricing, portfolio management, renewals, reserving, and technical analysis.What sets this opportunity apart? You’ll have the chance to travel 1-4 times a year, connecting face-to-face with colleagues and clients, building relationships, and shaping the future of our QBE RE (Reinsurance) business from the inside out.Your new roleReporting to the International Pricing Manager, you’ll be working closely with a broad network of professionals including brokers, underwriters, the actuarial team, and reserving functions. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll influence key business decisions, contribute to product development, and deliver insights that drive profitability and strategic growth.Plus, you’ll have the chance to work on exciting projects within QBE RE, collaborating with teams from QBE RE offices across the globe.Main responsibilities:<ul><li>Prepare reports and data for analysis and pricing reviews.</li><li>Develop relationships with internal stakeholders.</li><li>Recommend changes to actuarial assumptions and update models for improvement.</li><li>Apply relevant actuarial techniques and models.</li><li>Develop reporting and analytical tools for business insight.</li><li>Identify trends in portfolio, valuation, and data analysis.</li><li>Possess knowledge of data sources and link data structures for business performance measures.</li><li>Provide technical advice and guidance to less experienced actuarial staff.</li><li>Ensure accurate data usage and perform appropriate checks to minimize inaccuracies.</li><li>Maintain data integrity and strong relationships with stakeholders.</li></ul>About YouWe’re looking for someone who’s currently working through their actuarial exams or is nearly qualified, and has a passion for data and tools like Python, Power BI, and SQL. If you’re a curious, detail-oriented problem solver who loves learning and collaborating with others, we want to hear from you!Skills you’ll need:<ul><li>Experience in an actuarial role within insurance or reinsurance (e.g., pricing or reserving)</li><li>Analytical skills and a love for working with data</li><li>Solid Excel abilities, with a knack for spotting trends and summarizing data</li><li>SQL or Python experience is a plus - comfortable working with large data sets</li><li>A collaborative, flexible mindset and a self-starter who’s eager to learn and grow</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and communication skills</li></ul>Why QBE?
