The Opportunity

As part of the next phase in implementing our Performance and Portfolio Analytics Operating Model, we’re creating several new roles within QBE Re, the reinsurance arm of the QBE Group. To support QBE Re in achieving its strategic ambitions, we’re hiring a Actuarial Analytics Advisor to join our Product Analytics team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a nearly qualified actuary who’s passionate about pricing and reserving, and ready to accelerate their actuarial career in a dynamic, global environment. If you’ve got general insurance experience and a keen interest in reinsurance, we’d love to hear from you.

Your New Role

You’ll be at the heart of our product analytics strategy, delivering actionable insights and shaping the roadmap by product. Working closely with Pricing Analytics, Portfolio Optimisation, and Performance teams, you’ll ensure alignment on product goals and help drive technical excellence across the board.

Main Responsibilities:

• Gathering, analysing and interpreting data to support product decision-making.
• Conducting market research and competitor analysis to inform strategy.
• Monitoring performance through dashboards, metrics and reports.
• Supporting project tracking and ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
• Presenting clear, well-organised analyses to stakeholders.
• Identifying new opportunities for actuarial analysis and driving efficiencies.

About You

You’re a confident communicator and analytical thinker, with a strong foundation in actuarial science and a hunger to grow. You’ll be progressing through your actuarial exams at pace or be nearly qualified, and you’ll bring solid experience in general insurance - ideally with exposure to pricing or reserving. Reinsurance experience is a bonus!

Other skills you’ll need:

• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence.
• Experience in wider actuarial disciplines and increasing levels of responsibility.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerBI, Python, SQL or similar tools.
• A detail-oriented mindset and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Experience working in a multinational financial services business.
