Reporting to a Head of Actuarial Portfolio Analytics, you will support the Actuarial Portfolio Analytics part of iptiQ's Life and Health Pricing Team. The Pricing team consists of 15 colleagues based across 6 locations in Europe with expansion plans. We are responsible for the design of life &amp; health products and the setting of customer premiums as well as ongoing monitoring and profitability reviews.   

 

With the support of a wide range of Swiss Re experts, you will help the team grow presence in the EMEA markets, securing new distribution partnerships and building innovative product solutions. About the role

 

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will be supporting our Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Property and Casualty lines of business. Corporate Solution is our insurance arm of the Swiss Re brand. This is an exciting and varied role for someone in the early stages of their career looking to gain exposure at a market leader in corporate risks and to develop their pricing and portfolio management expertise. The role will be involved in individual account deal pricing, development and improvement of our pricing models and act as consultant to underwriting on portfolio management and pricing topics for the EMEA region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a P&amp;C reserving actuary to further develop your career within an international business environment! This position is embedded in the Swiss Re Corporate Solutions team Actuarial Management Global Hub, which is part of the Swiss Re Group Risk Management. 

 

The main focus of the role will be on the IFRS 17 project with involvement in the reserving, economic valuation and financial reporting for the full picture.

 

In this role you:

 

•    Support in the group IFRS 17 project and ensure the fulfillment of local requirements. 
•    Participate in the dry run of IFRS 17 
•    Support in the quarterly estimation of P&amp;C insurance portfolio reserves (local statutory, US GAAP) including cooperation with major internal partners (Claims, Underwriting, Pricing, Finance/Accounting) 
•    Support in estimation of the corresponding pay-out patterns serving as one of the input parameters for EVM and solvency and IFRS 17 calculations 
•    Contribute to other ad hoc analyses and tasks to support the members of the team

 

Key factors to a successful fulfillment of these responsibilities are close interactions with the main internal partners, the motivation to deepen actuarial and financial knowhow as well as a proactive attitude.

•    At least 3 years of experience in P&amp;C (re-)insurance 
•    Good understanding of IFRS 17 and US GAAP financial principles and reserving methods for P&amp;C (re-)insurance business

•    Qualified (or close to) actuary of the Slovak Society of Actuaries or an internationally recognized association 
•    Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal English communication skills 
•    Proactive attitude with ability to prioritize, plan, and execute across multiple work efforts simultaneously 
•    Ability to successfully work together with different personal styles and cultures
