Our Actuaries are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance, and reserving losses for AIG’s major insurance operating companies globally. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing, and Risk Management, among other functions.

How you will create an impact

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Actuarial Analyst to assist with pricing the US Programs business. The Senior Actuarial Analyst will help elevate the technical capabilities of the underwriting team through dynamic work projects such as new program due diligence and onboarding, rate filings, rate studies, price monitoring, trend analyses, and building out portfolio management tools.

The individual will be a trusted business partner, working with groups such as underwriting and product development to understand account decision-making and pricing practices to support Programs in ensuring profitable growth. This will also be an external/client-facing role as the actuary will engage with MGA Underwriters and Actuaries.

  • Work closely with underwriting to develop pricing and underwriting strategies, and assist in the execution and monitoring of said strategies.
  • Complete profitability studies on assigned programs and present analysis in front of business partners at varying levels of the organization.
  • Perform due diligence analyses for prospective business and support onboarding for approved programs.
  • Engage with MGA underwriters and actuaries.
  • Various ad hoc pricing tasks including profitability studies, development of new products, rate and other KPI monitoring, and filings support.
  • Work with the underwriters and rate filings unit to manage program-specific and state rate filings.
  • Produce and distribute relevant recurring reports as required.
  • Support development and maintenance of pricing tools such as pricing models, raters, and other analytical tools.

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ CAS exams.
  • Programming proficiency required (e.g. SQL, Python, VBA, R, etc).
  • 2+ years of pricing experience across a broad array of commercial lines, including property, auto, general liability, and professional liability.
  • Familiarity with AI tools a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong business and collaboration skills, and responsive to service needs and operational demands.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer focus.

The base salary range for this position is $108,000 - $134,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
