The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Actuarial Manager to support the Actuarial Modelling and Insights team by leading high-quality actuarial analysis and delivering insights that inform business performance, financial reporting, and strategic decision-making.

Your new role

The role is responsible for managing actuarial deliverables across reserving, planning, and reporting, ensuring strong governance, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvement.

It also plays a key role in enabling the actuarial control cycle by strengthening connections with strategic decision-makers, enhancing the relevance, timeliness, and impact of actuarial insights across the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of Actuarial Analysts to deliver high-quality outcomes aligned to business objectives.
  • Translate strategic priorities into clear, actionable plans, driving delivery and team performance.
  • Deliver actionable actuarial insights that connect reserving outcomes to strategic decision-making and strengthen the actuarial control cycle.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, effectively communicating insights to a range of audiences.
  • Ensure robust governance through strong quality controls and standards across actuarial processes and outputs.
  • Lead the delivery of regulatory and statutory reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Drive process simplification, efficiency, and continuous improvement across actuarial activities.

About you

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar Actuarial Manager role with a focus on General Insurance and Reserving. You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mathematics, Science, Data Science, Business, Actuarial Studies, or Computer Science.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a mindset of improving processes.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proven experience of leading and developing teams of Actuarial Analysts.
  • Proven record of communicating technical analysis to key stakeholders to make commercial decisions.
