We are looking for a Senior Financial Solutions Actuary to work closely with the APAC Financial Solutions team to form and execute our strategy in the APAC region. This role is pivotal in leading and instructing the modelling team.
Responsibilities
Key duties and responsibilities
Main Scope
- Provide day-to-day guidance to the modelling teams to execute business opportunities.
- Lead all large complex transactions and internal projects.
- Be the Subject Matter Expert of various financially motivated solutions and relevant regulations in active countries in the region.
- Work closely with Global Head of Delivery and Head of APAC to enhance our existing infrastructures and processes to optimize our operating models and achieve optimal efficiency while preserving quality.
Key Stakeholders and Working Relationships:
- Develop strong relationships and lead the liaison with key internal and external stakeholders to redefine and uplift our risk appetites as needed.
- Foster a network with other teams across SCOR globally (e.g., risk management, finance, legal, technical) to understand and credibly contribute to the evolution of the Group's best practices in selling, assessing, structuring, and managing financially motivated reinsurance business.
- Maintain interaction with other departments across SCOR globally (e.g., product development, health, accounting) to contribute to multi-function projects.
Qualifications
Required Experience & Competencies
Experience:
- Qualified Actuary; other qualifications such as CERA would be a plus.
- At least 8 years in the financial services industry, particularly in life insurance, life reinsurance, or life consulting.
- Strong background in accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 4, IFRS 17), solvency regimes (e.g., Solvency II, C-ROSS, RBC), and financial management.
- Strong background in life insurance or reinsurance pricing and risk management is preferred.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects and familiarity with structured reinsurance concepts.
- Proven experience in working with senior stakeholders.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage projects and project team members.
- Ability to act as a second-in-command within the department and take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Head of APAC Financial Solutions.
- Highly organized, analytical, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with an aptitude for strategic thinking and problem-solving.
- Innovative, creative, and adept at learning new concepts quickly.
- Team-oriented, capable of working collaboratively to achieve departmental goals.
