Actuarial Analyst Co-op (Fall)

This role is currently for a fully remote worker residing in Canada supporting work for Allstate Insurance Company in the United States.

This co-op opportunity will begin in September and end in December. You do not have to be enrolled in a co-op program to be eligible for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct reviews of rates for assigned states and product lines, analyzing profit and loss results, past and current trends, projecting underwriting losses, and reviewing competitiveness of rates.
  • Complete detailed analyses, make recommendations, and prepare rate package proposals for key business partners.
  • Prepare internal and external communications, including interactions with regulatory authorities and management that will describe and support rules and rate changes.

Required Skills:

We are looking for a student who is:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, or a related field and be in strong academic standing; must be a full-time student. Pursuing actuarial designation.
  • Capable of analyzing data and reviewing analysis while demonstrating strong decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Intermediate โ€“ Excel, Intermediate โ€“ Word, Beginner โ€“ Outlook, Basic โ€“ PowerPoint; standard knowledge in the use of data sources.
  • Possessing strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to complete multiple concurrent assignments in a timely manner.
