General Description of Role:
Assist consultants and other stakeholders for the US Health and Benefits domain, delivering RFP/Renewal reports to the clients.
Work on the internal client database tool to update policy information related to US health and benefit plans.
Provide clients with market insights and a measure of how their benefit programs compare to the competition.
Deliver reports based on various parameters such as premium, claims, and loss ratios.
The process involves analysis of healthcare products information provided by vendors and onshore consultants pertaining to premium, claims, and plan attributes.
Job Responsibilities:
The colleague provides high-quality administration support for internal and external clients by:
- Assisting in collecting and completing data input for various financial models such as Incurred but Not Reported Claims model, Actuarial Value Plan Model, and Pricing models.
- Tracking and analyzing medical/Rx claims, funding, expenses, and budgets, including utilization metrics and key cost drivers, creating EMR’s and Renewal submissions.
- Supporting budget projections and actuarial plan design modeling for medical/Rx plans.
- Performing contribution modeling, stop-loss analysis, and related financial analytics based on client demographics, plan design, and network discounts.
- Providing marketing support by analyzing administrator/network discounts and disruption for vendor and network evaluations.
- Analyzing ad hoc data using advanced functions in Excel and effectively communicating findings with both internal U.S. client teams and external collaborators.
- Conducting ad-hoc projects as needed using appropriate resources (e.g., plan changes, self-funded vs. fully insured analysis, etc.).
- Preparing financial exhibits to support client reports and correspondence.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of group systems, products, and technology, and understanding how these relate to group insurance consulting.
- Developing client-specific knowledge to deliver on the valuation and other consulting support services.
- Independently reviewing the technical results from the base data, establishing reasonableness, reliability of checks, and ensuring proper audit trails.
- Demonstrating a clear, logical approach to reviewing significant technical pieces of work with proper documentation and root cause analysis of areas of concern.
- Demonstrating a very good understanding of all aligned processes and being able to mentor and provide insights to clients/client’s team.
- Managing stakeholder communication through regular status updates, query resolution, and proactive communication.
- Acting as a bridge between onshore consultants and insurance vendors to ensure smooth coordination.
- Handling client and shared mailboxes, ensuring timely and professional responses.
- Contributing to training and capability development of Junior Analysts (e.g., classroom sessions, training material development).
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Business Management, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong technical expertise and working knowledge of the Health & Benefits domain and related analytics/consulting work, with a commitment to staying current on industry trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (functions, lookups, pivots/dynamic pivots, dashboards) and data-driven solutions.
- Demonstrated project management capability, with experience independently leading projects to successful delivery.
- Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to align differing viewpoints to practical solutions.
- Shown coaching and feedback skills, with experience developing junior team members.
- Excellent business communication skills (written, verbal, and presentations) with fluency in English.
- Flexible, proactive, and accountable, with a collaborative approach to colleagues and collaborators.
- Dedicated, with a strong analytical approach and robust problem-solving skills.
