Actuarial Analyst II

The Opportunity:

Join our Capital Management team of actuaries and help shape how we measure and manage risk and capital across the business. You’ll support economic capital modelling (ECM) & regulatory capital modelling (RBC), and work closely with the team to turn model insights into real business decisions across areas like reinsurance, capital allocation, and planning. This is a hands-on analytical role with a focus on capital modelling processes.

Location: New York, New York

Work Arrangement: This role will be on a hybrid schedule with expectations of being in the office 8-12 days a month.

The salary range for this role is: $80,000 - $120,000.

Your new role

  • Support the implementation of ECM objectives to ensure alignment with business targets and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Support regulatory capital modelling.
  • Perform appropriate checks within processes to minimize inaccuracies.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate understanding of business unit functions and the impact of ECM advice.
  • Assist in the calibration and validation of technical models.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to team members and stakeholders.
  • Perform analysis on capital needs, support capital stress tests, and report on capital metrics.
  • Use models across the business, provide analytical advice, and support risk functions.
  • Assist in the overall execution of QBE Group strategy related to Capital Modelling.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) exams
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Preferred Experience

  • 1+ years experience in an Actuarial or Analytics department
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel

Compensation Package

The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
