Are you a pricing actuary looking to deepen your impact within a capital‑driven reinsurance platform at the centre of a global insurance group?
QBE is recruiting a Pricing Actuary to join QBE Capital, the Group’s internal reinsurer. This role sits at the heart of underwriting, capital allocation and reinsurance decision‑making, supporting both internal and third‑party business.
With QBE Capital continuing to evolve through new structures, expanded licensing and innovative transactions, this role offers the opportunity to work on high‑profile initiatives while building strong relationships with brokers and senior stakeholders.

Your new role
Reporting to the Chief Actuary for QBE Capital, you will be responsible for managing the technical pricing process for QBE Capital, supporting underwriting decisions across both inwards and outwards reinsurance.
QBE Capital writes approximately $3bn GWP per annum and plays a key role in the Group’s exposure and capital management. It has recently received an expanded licence to underwrite third‑party business and has been central to major initiatives including the QBE Casualty Sidecar and recent loss portfolio transfers.
As QBE Capital continues its journey, this role will support new projects, evolving structures and increased analytical sophistication.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining best‑practice technical pricing standards, aligned with Group Pricing Standards
- Producing technical premiums consistent with business plans and the Economic Capital Model
- Supporting underwriting teams with pricing insight and broker negotiations for both internal and external reinsurance
- Maintaining high‑quality, auditable and transparent pricing tools, assumptions and documentation
- Monitoring market conditions and emerging pricing techniques to support portfolio performance reviews
- Providing management with an objective view of pricing adequacy, including comparison to prior years and market benchmarks
- Supporting optimisation of internal reinsurance structures through application of regulatory, economic capital and broker benchmarking insight
- Communicating complex technical concepts clearly to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
There will be periods of increased workload aligned to renewal cycles and project activity, and the role requires flexibility and resilience during peak periods.
About you
- Qualified or nearly qualified actuary with experience in pricing or reinsurance
- Strong technical pricing capability, with the ability to adapt to new projects and build practical solutions
- Experience working closely with underwriters and engaging confidently with brokers
- Comfortable explaining complex analysis to a range of stakeholders
- Proactive, organised and able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
- Willing and able to be based in Bermuda
- 5+ years relevant work experience
