Title: Senior Analyst I – Actuarial
The Opportunity: Join our Capital Management team of actuaries and help shape how we measure and manage risk and capital across the business. You’ll support economic capital modelling (ECM) & regulatory capital modelling (RBC), and work closely with the team to turn model insights into real business decisions across areas like reinsurance, capital allocation, and planning. This is a hands‑on analytical role with a focus on capital modelling processes.
- Location: New York, New York
- Work Arrangement: This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to be in the New York office 2 days a week.
- Pay Range: $110,000 - $165,000
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of ECM objectives to ensure alignment with business targets and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Support regulatory capital modelling.
- Perform appropriate checks within processes to minimize inaccuracies.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrate understanding of business unit functions and the impact of ECM advice.
- Assist in the calibration and validation of technical models.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to team members and stakeholders.
- Perform analysis on capital needs, support capital stress tests, and report on capital metrics.
- Use models across the business, provide analytical advice, and support risk functions.
- Assist in the overall execution of QBE Group strategy related to Capital Modelling.
Work Experience:
Preferred Work Experience includes:
- 3-5 years' experience in an Actuarial or Analytics department
- 4+ casualty actuarial exams
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel
Qualifications:
Necessary Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 2+ casualty actuarial exams
Candidates with the minimum experience are also encouraged to apply, and if successful, would be assigned into an Actuarial Analyst I/II position depending on specific experience.
