Job Title: Actuary, Pricing

Responsibilities:

SCOR Global Life Americas Reinsurance Company seeks an Actuary Pricing in Charlotte, NC.

Job duties include:

  • Performing transactional pricing activities for deals within approved authority limits.
  • Conducting experience analysis, including client experience and mortality assessments.
  • Setting and validating pricing assumptions, identifying and quantifying risks associated with the assumptions and proposed transactions.
  • Recommending and assessing risk mitigation strategies and structural solutions.
  • Developing actuarial models, including liability population cells, data tables, and other structures essential for accurate pricing.
  • Running models and performing sensitivity analyses, ensuring accuracy and consistency of results.
  • Analyzing the impact of changes in assumptions, methodologies, reserve requirements, product features, and premium structures.
  • Creating documentation that is complete and clear, capturing both assumptions and reasoning, and addressing the interests of the intended audiences.
  • Working collaboratively with the client deal team to gain approval from Global Business Acceptance for deals above local authority limits.
  • Working with the US Actuarial Pricing Team to deliver a quality and timely priced product to meet SGL (SCOR Global Life) and customer needs.
  • Completing necessary analysis required for client requested treaty amendments and making recommendations on acceptance of proposed changes.
  • Developing and maintaining strong partnerships with marketing actuaries and account executives.
  • Working with Corporate Actuarial staff and counterparts to continually improve data modeling, establish valuation numbers, and hand off controls.
  • Assisting other departments on various corporate projection work (e.g., budget projections, Value of New Business, etc.).
  • Researching technical topics, sharing knowledge, providing informed opinions of the best course of action, and implementing decisions in the pricing process and models.

Qualifications:

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation. Skills include:

  • Validation of detailed cash flow, reserve pattern, and capital component output.
  • Working with international and national pricing development teams.
  • Proficiency with pricing platforms and related pricing tools.
  • Developing and recommending pricing assumptions.
  • Building and reviewing actuarial models to price new business requests utilizing pricing assumptions and analyzing results to determine final pricing result.

In the alternative, a Master’s degree in one of the above-listed fields and three (3) years of experience in the above-listed skills will be accepted. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies.
