Senior Business Analyst (Fixed-term)

Senior Business Analyst

The Reinsurance Senior Business Analyst role will focus on analysing global data, developing management reports on revenue and pipeline, managing dashboards, and preparing ad hoc reports. You will lead data stewardship in collaboration with the Insurance Vertical Team, providing insights, identifying improvements, and implementing solutions using advanced tools (i.e. PowerBI, Excel) for business benefit and data-driven decisions.

Please note that this is a fixed-term position for two years.

What the day will look like:

  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for Insurance Vertical Dashboard and act as the key contact for all ad-hoc business queries.
  • Lead on data management across the portfolio of tools and reporting insights to improve data quality and utilization.
  • Design, build, and maintain standard and ad-hoc management reports and presentations including quarterly and monthly business reviews, and other operational dashboards/reports.
  • Develop new and enhanced revenue, sales, pipeline, and market assessment reporting from various tools demonstrating multiple data sources to show important measurements and trends.
  • Identify improvements and implement solutions using advanced Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and PowerBI skills.
  • Research market trends and collaborate closely with segment and geography leaders, creating visual presentations for senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with business, operations, and technical teams to gather requirements for new reporting needs and future state reporting enhancements.
  • Participate in special projects/initiatives that require technical skillset supporting business requirements.

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining business reports, dashboards, and other forms of metrics.
  • Ability to synthesize, map, and analyse data to help drive informed decisions.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI skills.
  • Ability to understand financial and IT data and systems to quickly get up to speed, and leverage available data to meet the needs of the business cases and market assessments.
  • Creative approach willing to challenge/change processes/reports with better ideas.

Education and qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree – Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (including presentation) skills and a proven ability to develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.
  • Analytical approach and strong data management skills with experience in manipulating, analysing, and presenting data insights are essential.
  • Methodical and well-organised approach.
  • Flexible/agile mentality and comfortable handling multiple responsibilities.
  • Facilitation, coordination, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work with people across multiple locations and functions.
