Description and Requirements
Role Value Proposition:
The role will support the Asia valuation team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the production & analysis of results across different valuation bases and reporting requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and responsible for audits and related tasks.
- Provide explanation and analysis of results to leaders, including the production of written reports.
- Perform variance analysis and manage research/resolution/follow-ups for closure of open items.
- Support in specification and validation of new valuation methodologies, models, and product implementations.
- Provide support in managing US GAAP valuation and reporting for Long-Term Care business in the US.
- Develop and support the team in areas such as automation projects and production steward reviews of models.
- Active involvement in UAT testing, valuations, and modeling new products.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Error-free preparation of financial reports within required timelines and relevant actuarial standards.
- Work on enhancements/developments to improve/simplify/automate the reporting process.
- Contribute to building a culture of collaboration, engagement, and trust while supporting professional development.
- Delegate and execute work while maintaining focus on quality, timeliness, and effective communications.
- Take ownership of work; clearly flag any issues and goal delivery concerns to the leadership team.
- Execute second-line data validation and completeness checks complying with actuarial and audit standards.
Education, Technical Skills & Other Critical Requirements:
- Education: Should be a graduate preferably in a numerate stream.
- 8+ actuarial exams.
- Experience: 7+ years of actuarial experience.
- Technical Skills: Understanding of actuarial reporting software.
- Awareness of Solvency II, IFRS, Economic Capital, US GAAP, and Embedded Value.
- Knowledge of reserving and local insurance laws and regulations would be beneficial.
- Other Critical Requirements:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Respectful of deadlines, disciplined, yet flexible and pragmatic.
- Aptitude for finding creative solutions to problems and challenging preconceptions.
- Attention to detail.
- Good business acumen.
