P&C Actuarial Intern (Summer/Fall 2026)

About the Role
As an Actuarial Intern reporting directly to our P&C Appointed Actuary, you'll be immersed in meaningful work that contributes to our company's success while developing your technical and professional capabilities in a supportive environment. This role will run for the Summer (May-Aug) and Fall semesters (Sept-Dec) with an opportunity to combine the two and work for 8 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Canadian statutory reserving and reporting under IFRS 17, gaining exposure to industry standards
- Assist with financial forecast modelling, Financial Condition Testing (FCT) and the ORSA process
- Contribute to the transition and stabilization of IFRS 17, collaborating with local and global project teams across functions including Finance and IT
- Work on diverse projects and provide support to team members as needed
- Apply analytical skills to solve real business problems while receiving mentorship from experienced actuaries

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, with Visual Basic Programming capabilities
- Demonstrated progress in actuarial exams
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams
These are additional nice to haves:
- Experience with MS Access, R, Oracle or other database management tools
- Previous internship experience in insurance, finance, or related fields
- Knowledge of IFRS 17 concepts
- Proactive learning style with intellectual curiosity
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
