Actuarial Analyst (P&C Graduate)

About the Role
This position is an ideal start to your career at Swiss Re. Not only will you gain a broad overview of P&C reserving, but you will also get to know large parts of our P&C reinsurance organization.
We are looking for an ambitious reserving actuary to join our team in performing quarterly and yearly reserve calculations for EMEA market business.
- You will work with a brand-new actuarial reserving tool, apply the various actuarial reserving methods and decide on the most appropriate reserves for the financial accounts.
- You will estimate nominal ultimate claims and their pay-out patterns, digging deeper into portfolios as required to identify segments needing specific focus and separate monitoring.
- You will challenge costing accuracy, contribute to reporting and build a deep understanding of liability reinsurance in particular.
- You regularly interact with other functions such as Underwriting, Claims, Technical Accounting and Finance as well as with senior management and build trustful long-term relationships.
About the Team
The hub Munich EMEA reserving team consists of 6 actuaries. We value a good team and collaborative spirit. We frequently interact with a large number of stakeholders from different functions and locations. Therefore, we value strong communication skills on top of technical expertise. Our Munich reserving hub mainly reserves all EMEA Motor treaty business.
About You
We are looking for someone who is energetic and motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills and who pays attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- You have successfully completed your university degree in a quantitative field such as Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or any other degree with a quantitative component.
- You are ready to pursue a professional actuarial qualification.
- You can quickly grasp new concepts and develop them into practical solutions.
- Experience with R or other programming languages/frameworks.
