About The Role
Be ready to join our engineering team and work side by side with software engineers and business colleagues to transfer insurance solutions into the digital world for our focus markets: Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, and the UK.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Analyse calculation requirements for life & health products
- Transform product specifications into digital product models
- Configure, test, and document new life & health digital insurance product models
- Work side-by-side with engineers, architects, project leaders, and management to resolve problems and suggest alternatives

Our tech team works with the latest enterprise technology and tools, pushing the boundaries with every new project. We’re the software engineering engine behind a fast-growing risk-tech start-up that helps millions of end users access affordable and easy-to-buy life insurance.
You will join the team responsible for policy management and quote calculation for digital insurance policies. It is an international team distributed between Switzerland, Spain, and Slovakia. The team members are friendly, high-skilled professionals with a strong team-player culture.
About You
You are an actuary with strong coding skills or a deep passion to learn programming and explore the world of insurance digitalization. As a member of a team with a tight-knit collaboration culture, you are a team-player professional and a confident communicator who can engage with colleagues in person, in writing, and in online meetings.
Also, you have…
- Relevant education as an actuary with added knowledge about life and pension, or similar
- A minimum of relevant coding experience in any relevant coding language (Java, C#, Python)
- Good understanding of Life and Health products
- A passion for understanding complex requirements and finding simple solutions
- A genuine interest in coding to learn and effectively use tools and software development techniques as practiced within the team
- Willingness to work in a team. Our joint success is what counts
- Enthusiasm for driving improvement by finding and implementing solutions to new challenges
Nice to have
- Previous experience in coding in Java or any other application development language

For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 42,000 and EUR 70,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity, and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills, and experience.
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognize your achievements. Further, you will enjoy a variety of global and location-specific benefits.
Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
