What the day will look like
- Reporting to the Global Head of Property Analytics, Commercial Risk, you will be responsible for the day-to-day development and oversight of our property analytics pricing algorithms and data assets to support property insurance broking and market insights.
- Work with our Property Analytics team to develop answers to the most important questions for the future of Property broking, developing best in class pricing models that meet business and client needs.
- Own and maintain critical data assets for use across the organization and provide thought leadership on the development of management information and industry insights.
- Work closely with key stakeholders across broking, and our analytics development teams to deliver key strategic insights deliverables to clients and broking leadership.
- Ensure best practice in model and algorithm technical governance.
- Harness the power of AI to turn data insights into actionable analytics for brokers.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with brokers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate complex actuarial concepts into clear, actionable insights.
- Project Management: Run multiple projects simultaneously, working to tight deadlines to deliver high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment.
- Platform Utilization: Leverage your knowledge of analytic platforms like Databricks and Snowflake to enhance data management, processing, and analysis capabilities within the organization.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Qualified Actuary with experience in pricing within the commercial property insurance sector.
- Experience in commercial lines pricing: building Generalised Linear Models and equivalent pricing methods in a commercial lines insurer. Experience of loss curve fitting, catastrophe (cat) modeling, or stochastic modeling is also a distinct advantage.
- Demonstrable experience in working closely with pricing infrastructure delivery - building and refining pricing algorithms, and designing data architecture flow all the way from the Application User Interface to Database and to Data Insights.
- Strong programming skills in SQL, Python/R and experience working with Databricks Unity Catalog or Snowflake is a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of market leading business intelligence software also required.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
