Actuarial Software Developer (C#)

Isio is actively seeking an experienced Actuarial Developer to join our Quantitative Development Team, which sits within our Digital Function. This team has a unique blend of coding, actuarial, and investment skillsets - with an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, they develop cutting-edge systems and solutions for our business and our clients.

This multifaceted role requires proficiency in actuarial and pensions knowledge along with advanced skills in complex actuarial calculations, analysis, and software development. Your principal tasks will be to construct and enhance Isio’s portfolio of innovative software solutions and services.

Given the specialized skill set required, this position is well-suited for various employment arrangements. We therefore welcome applications from contractors, both day-rate or fixed-term, as well as permanent employees for this vacancy.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Construct and enhance Isio’s portfolio of innovative software solutions and services. This involves developing complex actuarial models, conducting risk analysis, and making strategic recommendations.
  • Work within a modern development environment, utilizing languages such as C#, other NET-centric languages, SQL, and Excel/VBA. Ensuring quality and testing standards are met.
  • Apply actuarial and pensions subject matter expertise to develop technical models accurately.
  • Collaborate with the quant team, pensions, actuarial, administration, and investment teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Embrace evolving practices in technology and demonstrate commitment to ongoing learning.

Experience and Competencies Required

  • More than 5 years of software development experience, particularly in the specified languages: C#, NET-centric languages, SQL, and Excel/VBA
  • At least 5 years of experience in an actuarial and pensions-related calculation role
  • Demonstrable expertise in working within a quality and testing focused environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Where is the role?

This position can be based in any of our Isio offices located in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Croydon, Reading and Manchester.

We operate on a hybrid basis, offering you the opportunity to work both in the office and from home. The expectation would be 2 - 3 days per week in the office.
