Actuarial Associate

Salary between £35,000 and £45,000

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves investigating problems in detail. If you have strong mathematical skills and good knowledge of life & pensions products then this role could suit you. We’re looking for a great team player who can work as part of a small team.

A bit about the job:

The role is based in the Actuarial Services team within Customer & Product Existing Platforms. You will work as part of a small team dealing with a wide range of actuarial work related to our legacy life and pensions products.

Typical tasks include, processing buy out quotes for small defined benefit pension schemes as well as processing requests from pension trustees for net fund returns.

Maintaining spreadsheet programs with current rates and assumptions and creating and amending pension and drawdown illustrations.

Responding to mailbox queries from admin teams and other areas of the business and performing technical reviews on life & pensions products.

You will also be responsible for providing audit trails for your work and deliver work that has strong governance and controls.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • A wide range of product knowledge of life and pensions products
  • Strong analytical skills and good MS Excel skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload with business objectives
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Teamwork

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Starting salary between £35,000 and £45,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
