Actuarial Specialist (DB Operational Development)

Purpose: This role focuses on the innovation and development of actuarial services for member and operational services.

Job Role Accountabilities:

• Manage actuarial testing and sign-off for new schemes loaded to automation.
• Maintain data quality and integrity throughout the calculation process.
• Improve and innovate the calculation process to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Provide direction for standard and non-standard member option calculations.
• Develop a deep knowledge of all systems and tools used by our actuarial and operational teams.
• Drive projects forward to ensure they progress in line with expected timescales.
• Assist in the development of junior DB team members through training and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications: Obtained FIA qualification

Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong IT skills, particularly Excel.
• Good interpersonal, team working, and leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Strong technical skills and deep technical knowledge of actuarial concepts.
• Strong knowledge and awareness of the DB buy-in/buy-out market, life insurance, and relevant regulation.

Experience: Good experience of working within a pension consultancy or life insurance company
