Senior Actuary (Annuity Solutions)

We are currently seeking applicants for a Sr Actuary (Annuity Solutions) position. This role will be responsible for supporting the pricing activities of the Annuity Solutions business unit by training new team members, leading departmental projects, conducting market research, creating and maintaining pricing tools and dashboards, assisting with assumption setting, and peer reviewing and debugging models.

Your Tasks

  • Technical support and analysis
  • Support production and review of actuarial models, both built internally or client models modified for the purpose of due diligence of desired opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, and encourage use of new and existing tools to enhance team efficiency in all aspects of the marketing and pricing processes
  • Manage the Annuity Solutions projects, which may not be directly related to any particular client or transaction, but are geared towards improving the efficiency and operation of the new business team.
  • Assist as required or requested on marketing initiatives, including market research, alongside the VP Marketing.
  • Drive a climate of collaboration, engagement and curiosity; with the target goal of assisting Annuity Solutions to evaluate new business opportunities more efficiently and more broadly.

Business management and collaboration

  • Assist in the training of new team members, including new Actuarial Associates, temporary employees, and interns.
  • Collaborate with other Annuity Solutions team members so they can respond timely to internal and external requests, such duties to include creating and providing appropriate templates, market research, Hannover Re sourced data, etc.
  • Actively manage multiple priorities and responsibilities and look for ways to improve existing analysis and/or processes.
  • Proactively work to build strong relationships with others in the department and the company, and actively participate in meetings, asking questions, answering questions and/or providing valuable input.
  • Develop, maintain and/or review Annuity Solutions presence in “collaboration” tools such as ConneX, Corporate Shared Services produced reports and experience monitoring dashboards

Ad-hoc projects / Other

  • Assists with ad-hoc projects in the department or company, on an as needed basis. This may involve coordination with other departments

Your Profile

Essential knowledge skills and abilities:

  • FSA designation the Society of Actuaries (ASA considered) with 5+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of reinsurance and insurance industry.
  • Experience with pricing or annuity products.
  • Actuarial modelling experience: MG-ALFA essential, GGY-AXIS optional.
  • Strong quantitative analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and create practical solutions to move complex business problems forward.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Business skills: Strong technical skills, highly organized and detailed, excellent writing and documentation skills

Desired knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Computer programming skills and/or knowledge, such as Python, SQL, PowerBI
  • Background in financial reporting, valuation and understand of regulatory guidelines for annuity products

Travel: 10-15% to the Orlando office and/or onsite team meetings

Total Compensation Range: $121,100 - $191,900 (inclusive of Base and Bonus).
