GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
Assist consultants and other stakeholders for US Health and Benefits domain, delivering periodic actuarial valuations for clients using ProVal software, standard IBNP models/AMS tool and other actuarial processes.
The process involves analysis of healthcare products data provided by vendors and onshore consultants pertaining to premium, claims, and plan attributes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates as part of team under supervision of Sr. Analysts.
- Supporting our senior team members to provide expert, timely, efficient and professional delivery of services to our onshore consultants.
- Taking responsibility for the production (quality, timeliness and budget) of work for allocated client deliverables.
- This includes undertaking and completing complex actuarial calculations and reports.
- Building strong relationships and high level trust to deliver work on time.
- Demonstrate ability to convey logical thought processes and produce well-presented work which is easy for others to follow.
- Playing an active part in service delivery as part of the extended client teams.
- Taking responsibility to be abreast of process/legislative changes to ensure fit-for-purpose results are delivered.
- Completes periodic valuations for clients using ProVal software standard IBNP models/AMS tool.
- Works on multiple valuations and processes simultaneously.
- Recognizes when tasks are taking too long, and asks for help.
- Uses formal training to learn technical topics.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Graduate, numerate degree preferred such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Engineering.
- Active student member of the Institute of Actuaries, UK/India and should have cleared at least one core technical actuarial exam.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel text functions, math functions, statistical functions, logical functions, and lookups.
- Well versed with basic tool functionalities for creating, editing and formatting presentations.
- Business communication skills and fluent in English. Should be able to coherently and confidently communicate thoughts and ideas verbally and in writing.
- Should be flexible, keen on taking initiatives, accountable, and have a collaborative approach with fellow colleagues.
