Senior Actuarial Analyst

The Role

As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the upskilling of more junior members and will be expected to act as an expert on WE/Germany pensions’ topics as well as responsible for managing and mentoring more junior colleagues in the scope of our WE/Germany operations. In addition, you will add value to the company by performing the following tasks:

  • Work as part of a team to deliver actuarial and data services to the pensions market.
  • Act as an expert for all technical matters related to the pension’s world.
  • Producing and analyzing data, reports as required for clients and requirements.
  • Accurately processing and checking data queries by following procedures correctly and meeting agreed deadlines.
  • Planning, prioritizing, and delivering assigned project activities.
  • Reviewing project tracker and making sure all daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are completed.
  • Highlighting risks and errors to relevant parties as soon as possible, following risk processes.
  • Building strong relationships with consulting office teams.
  • Contributing to the team, supporting the rest of the team based on their needs (a buddy to less experienced colleagues and supporting more senior colleagues).
  • Maintaining required technical knowledge and behavioral standards, especially all regulatory and statutory requirements.

The Requirements

We are looking for a highly driven, FIA qualified or making good exam progress, with strong numerical and interpersonal skills, looking to become part of a large and dynamic work environment. The essential experience for this role is:

  • Previous experience doing core actuarial valuation work and/or actuarial consultancy.
  • Solid knowledge and experience of WE/UK DB Pensions, in particular the complexities and legislative requirements surrounding GMP.
  • Up to date awareness of current pension issue and how these impact clients, including key considerations.
  • High level and detailed analysis and reconciliation of data using Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ongoing commitment to provide ongoing quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and commitment to quality.
