Our actuaries are on the front line, quantifying risk, pricing insurance, and reserving losses for AIG’s major insurance operations. Pricing actuaries support portfolio development and are responsible for technical pricing, product development analytics, and performance measurement.
How you will create an impact
We are seeking a highly motivated and curious actuarial analyst to join our pricing team. The actuarial analyst will be responsible for pricing and supporting the environmental, energy, and trucking portfolio. The position involves profitability analysis, rater development and maintenance, establishing budgets, and building portfolio strategy.
They will partner with other actuaries in implementing best practices, analytical techniques, and assessing the impact of loss trends and claims emergence. Specifically, the analyst will:
- Work closely with underwriting to develop pricing and help identify growth opportunities.
- Support the business review process and portfolio deep dives, which include reviewing portfolio loss ratios to assess the impact on business performance.
- Develop premium adequacy reports and budget loss ratio estimates for various segments.
- Collaborate with the data team to create efficiency and drive improvements to achieve actuarial transformation goals.
- Support the development of modeling projects on AIG’s modeling platforms.
- Ensure accuracy of quoting and rating systems by working with Underwriters.
What you’ll need to succeed
- At least 2 completed Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) exams.
- 1+ years of relevant actuarial experience in commercial insurance.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, and R.
- Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Works well independently and as part of a team.
- Strong business and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
For positions based in New York, the base salary range is $84,000-$108,000, and for positions based in New Jersey, the base salary range is $80,000-$103,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. We’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
