Actuarial Manager (Pricing)

The Actuarial community at QBE Insurance is full of experienced professionals who are incredibly passionate and dedicated to making a significant contribution to the way we operate our business. Due to growth we have a number of Actuarial Manager roles available across our high performing pricing teams.

In this role, you may also be responsible for:

• Pricing support for designated products, managing stakeholder relationships and product performance.
• Developing solutions to proactively assist in monitoring portfolio performance and emerging trends
• Build complex models using standard pricing techniques, including, but not limited to GLMs, Machine Learning, Price Simulation and Rate Setting
• Understand the impact of pricing reviews on the performance KPIs of various business units
• Manage allocated projects or assignments, including pricing processes for allocated products
• Recognize lead indicators of performance and have sound understanding of the impact of different drivers and actions on profit and volume outcomes
• Continually seek to improve processes within work scope, and provide input into design, build and testing process improvements or new process builds
• Day-to-day management of actuarial analysts

About you

To be successful you will have….

• Strong experience in a similar role or Senior Level Actuarial position
• Background in General Insurance pricing
• Ability to analyse, interpret and extrapolate statistical and technical pricing data from a number of sources and resolve complex issues
• Ability to communicate complicated concepts verbally and in writing in a simple, professional manner
• Proficiency in commonly used actuarial and pricing software packages
• Bachelors degree in actuarial or mathematically focused area
• Leadership and People management exposure preferred but not essential
