Actuarial Intern (Risk, 2024)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Risk Modelling team provides insurance modeling expertise to help guide strategic decision making and risk management, experience studies, institutional reinsurance deals, hedging, and financial reporting and analysis. The Risk Modelling Intern will be responsible for working on key projects supporting different facets of the Risk department, as well as supporting management objectives and the annual assumption review. This opportunity will provide hands-on experience in liability modeling, hedging, experience analysis, and automation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrollment in a four-year degree program for actuarial science, math, statistics or related field; December 2024 or May 2025 graduates preferred
  • Completion of an actuarial exam required
  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
  • Experience with SAS, Python, VBA or other programming preferred
  • Ability and willingness to take ownership of projects
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships
  • Results oriented, flexible, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced team environment with limited direct supervision
  • Strong work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications.

Global Atlantic’s Intern Salary is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. The Intern Salary is based on yearly compensation and will be paid for 10 weeks during the program. The Intern Salary for this role is $105,000.

This position is not eligible for visa candidates now or in the future.
