Actuarial Specialist (12 Month FTC)

Please note this role is for a 12-month Fixed term contract

The role will be suitable for someone with a proactive attitude, who has strong people skills and who can effectively manage deliverables.

A bit about the job:

This role will see you working alongside members of the Wealth Customer & Product Actuarial team, managing the actuarial activity across several risk events. This includes investigating the scope and root cause of the risk event; identifying solutions to fix errors; delivering and reviewing calculations to redress customers.

You will be responsible for delivering quality and timely outputs across a variety of risk events, prioritising effectively and ensuring actuarial work is produced to a high standard by applying appropriate checks and controls. The role will include collaborating effectively with project stakeholders, providing technical support and expertise to actuarial colleagues and successfully communicating technical analysis to enable effective decision making.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Actuarial knowledge, including knowledge of life insurance products and good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong people skills, including the ability to provide technical support to others; the ability to communicate technical knowledge effectively to others; the ability to manage the work of colleagues.
  • Time management skills, able to plan and prioritise work to deliver against deadlines.
  • Modelling skills including experience of using and manipulating big data sets; able to apply actuarial techniques to complex customer impacting issues.
  • Awareness of risks, including the ability to implement suitable controls to ensure the accuracy of calculation output.

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Salary of Circa ÂŁ50,000 ( Depending on skills, experience and qualifications)
