Our Financial Actuaries are on the frontlines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG’s major regulated and rated insurance operating companies globally.

Portfolio Analytics and Pricing Actuaries support AIG’s businesses and are responsible for technical pricing, product development analytics and performance measurement. They collaborate with Marketing, Operations and Financial Management.

What you need to know:

We are seeking an actuarial professional with industry expertise to assist with pricing the Commercial Property business. The Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for profitability studies, portfolio deep dives, working with underwriters on large account pricing, and pricing model development and enhancements.

They will partner with other pricing actuaries in implementing best practices analytical techniques, partner with reserving actuaries in assessing the impact of loss trends and claims emergence, and partner with underwriters in assessing the impact of changes in appetite and portfolio mix.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data to determine loss and expense reserve adequacy using actuarial techniques.
  • Evaluate the appropriate IBNR to be booked each quarter, prepare Sarbanes Oxley documentation.
  • Conduct research, experience studies and other complex actuarial analysis, develop, review, and analyze changes and improvements to actuarial procedures. Optimize processes to meet business needs.
  • Assist in the production of the Schedule P and other reports or exhibits for GAAP and Statutory financials.
  • Complete projects independently with some supervision.

What we’re looking for:

  • BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area preferred.
  • Required 2+ actuarial exams.
  • 2 or more years of experience in Property & Casualty (P&C).
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, SAS, Python, R, or other programming languages strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong business and collaboration skills and responsive to service needs and operational demands.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer focus.
