Corporate Actuarial Analyst (P&C)

About the role:

  • You will be a part of the Global Actuarial team working towards IFRS 17 implementation in Swiss Re. You will have ample opportunity to apply your technical actuarial, modelling and data analytics skills across a variety of activities. You will work in collaboration with Reserving actuaries across the globe.
  • In this role, you will actively liaise with Finance colleagues and Appointed Actuaries on IFRS 17. IFRS 17 is a paradigm shift for insurance accounting and reporting, with impact across Actuarial, Finance and IT functions. With this new standard, there will be closer collaboration between Actuaries and Finance.

The job responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop understanding and knowledge on IFRS 17.
  • Support team members in analysis and reporting under IFRS 17.
  • Assist in formulating implementation plans and management of such plans.
  • Precise and timely completion of implementation tasks within the plan.
  • Contribute towards actuarial planning at a Legal Entity/Regional level.
  • Provide training and support for systems and calculation engines where local actuaries are completing tasks.
  • Assist local entities with regulatory requests such as quantitative impact studies.
  • Prepare written documentation and presentations on the results of technical analysis.
  • Provide support in documenting current processes and new IFRS requirements.

About the team:

The IFRS 17 Actuarial Implementation team is part of the Actuarial Reserving P&C BLR hub and falls under the Global Actuarial P&C Re function. It leads the IFRS 17 implementation across Swiss Re for P&C Re.

About you:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Physics or equivalent field.
  • 1+ years of experience in the P&C actuarial domain with steady exam progress.
  • Practical experience in insurance accounting (USG, IFRS 4, Other) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of insurance accounting principles.
  • Ability to work independently and accurately, with attention to detail and timely delivery.
  • Strong data organization, analytical, modelling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, desire for learning new concepts.
  • Proficient IT skills including ability to apply some of the advanced features of Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
