Senior Manager (Enterprise Risk)

Salary – National up to £95,000, London up to £125,000

This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a varied, agile and visible team in driving and influencing the appropriate understanding and management of risks and opportunities across key business decisions within Aviva’s UK General Insurance business.

This role is available as a permanent position or a 9–12-month fixed term contract.

A bit about the job:

The Senior Enterprise Risk Manager will support the Head of Enterprise Risk and the Risk Business Partners, you will provide key expertise to identify, oversee and partner the business on its risks and opportunities across the entirety of the UK GI business’s risk profile.

This will span leading targeted deep dives on emerging risk themes; reviewing, challenging and providing opinions on business plans and material business decisions; delivering key risk reports to support senior stakeholders including the ORSA; supporting the CRO in meeting regulatory requests; partnering with Finance teams to support their Risk objectives; supporting Risk Business Partners and Insurance Risk Leads conduct business oversight across pricing, reserving, claims and underwriting; and ensuring the continuing effectiveness of Aviva’s Risk Management Framework.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Risk, underwriting, actuarial and/or capital professional who is driven, curious, commercially minded and ready for a challenge
  • Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written), with ability to articulate difficult and complex issues precisely and concisely to senior stakeholders and decision makers
  • Critical thinker with proven ability to review and appropriately challenge material business decisions, taking ownership of issues and building collaborative relationships across three lines of defence
  • Analytically minded with the ability to explain and comment on aspects such as investment strategy and financial risks
  • Ability to ‘join the dots’, spotting emerging trends and potential risks and opportunities to the business with clear articulation of the impact these might have on key performance metrics and appetites

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Starting salary National up to £95,000, London based up to £125,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
