Intern (Portfolio Modelling)

About the Role:

• You will be developing and maintaining models, quantitative tools, and dashboards (BI) to support adequate decision making by underwriters and senior managers.
• You will be involved in strategic and tactic discussions on portfolio steering and pricing for the Agro line of business.
• Critical responsibilities involve business intelligence, costing, pricing, portfolio steering, data curation, quarterly financial reporting, and reporting to external stakeholders.
• Interaction with IT, underwriting, finance, and claims teams is expected.

About the Team:

We are a small team of seasoned professionals supporting the leadership and underwriting colleagues in delivering on the core mandates of the Agro line of business. Together, we hold expertise in actuarial pricing, underwriting, data analytics, strategic management, market intelligence, and financial modeling.

About You:

As a natural critical thinker, you're comfortable in proactively finding new – more efficient – ways in delivering on your objectives. You have a solid quantitative background and interest in the business landscape, with a curious mind. You are open to engage with colleagues to communicate in person, in writing, and online meetings.

Essentials

• University student in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Meteorology, Engineering, Actuarial Sciences or equivalent - Graduation expected: 2025/2026/2027
• Advanced English
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn R or Python
• Willing to think out of the box, ready to take proactive ownership and gradually develop independence in prioritisation of own tasks

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge in Data Science, Climate or Agriculture
• Knowledge in Finance or Macroeconomy
• Adaptable thrive in a work environment where new relationships and projects constantly emerge
