Senior Actuarial Analyst

About the role

Are you looking for challenges? In this role, you will be accountable for:

  • Providing an independent assessment of the P&C reserves for a specific region.
  • Supporting the transition to IFRS17 for any process within the team.
  • Supporting the production of the quarterly group closing material in providing management with the most relevant information.
  • Performing 'deep dives' assessing the quality of reserving on specific portfolios through reviews of assumptions, data, models and reserving processes.
  • Driving process improvements and technology applications by using programming skills, statistical modelling, and data visualization.
  • Having opportunities to grow in other tasks of the wider Actuarial Control team.

About the team

The P&C Actuarial Control team is part of the Actuarial Control team in Group Risk Management. Our main mandate is to provide senior management and the Board(s) of Directors with an independent assessment of our reserves for both Reinsurance and CorSo. Additionally, we support the Group Chief Actuary with the production of quarterly closing material and provide the Risk Modelling team with the P&C parameters for the internal model.

About You

  • Part - or fully qualified actuary
  • P&C experience in reserving, pricing or financial reporting is desired
  • Practical experience with IFRS17 processes
  • Strong academic background with a good foundation in mathematical statistics and numerical methods
  • Proficiency in programming in R, Python, or other related languages. Experience with MS Power BI and visualization tools is desired
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, navigate ambiguity and not looking for status-quo
  • Experienced in working with multiple teams across functions and geographies
  • You are an outstanding teammate, who can work independently and take ownership
  • You are trustworthy and curious to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good spoken and written English
