Description and Requirements

Position Summary

The role involves supporting more senior actuaries who are engaged with various teams to coordinate and implement reporting.

  • Execute monthly/quarterly valuation reporting and corresponding analysis for various MetLife Europe and Middle East countries.
  • Support in specification and validation of new valuation methodologies, models, and product implementations.
  • Provide explanation of results for the Chief Actuary review.
  • Perform research relating to queries raised by auditors and assist with preparing timely responses.
  • Work with regional stakeholders to handle all deliverables for Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual reporting for Reinsurance business.
  • Work on ongoing enhancements/developments to improve/simplify/automate the reporting process.
  • Implement changes/updates in process and regulations on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop strong working relationships and strategic partnerships with internal clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure critical focus on core deliverables throughout the course of the reporting year.

Job Responsibilities

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of Position:

  • Error-free preparation of financial reports to required timescales and relevant actuarial standards.
  • Execution of second-line data validation and completeness checks to required actuarial and audit standards.
  • Contributing towards good team morale and positive team engagement and professional development.
  • Ensuring excellent communication between the Noida-based team and stakeholders in different geographical locations.
  • Taking demonstrable ownership of work; clearly flagging any issues and goal delivery concerns to senior leadership.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education:

  • A bachelor's or master's university degree with a heavy mathematical focus (e.g., mathematics, engineering, physics, computer science, financial economics).

Experience:

  • 2-5 years of actuarial experience; a partly qualified fellow of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries with relevant reporting experience and making good progress through the actuarial exams (circa CA1 level).

Essential experience, skills, and competencies:

  • Meticulous in the validation, presentation, and communication of results.
  • Respectful of deadlines, discipline, and process, yet flexible and pragmatic within a growing business.
  • Capable of working autonomously or with a team, balancing own initiative with advice from others.
  • Able to navigate through complex problems and organizations to achieve results and deliver solutions.
  • Able to communicate complex issues to non-experts.
  • Experience of USGAAP, Regulatory reporting, IFRS, Solvency II, and EV/VNB reporting would be preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience of insurance products sold by MetLife globally is a distinct advantage.
  • Recent practical experience of financial/actuarial modeling systems (Prophet would be a plus).
  • Excellent Excel/VB/VBA skills (Prophet skills would be a plus).
