Actuarial & Consulting Internship Programme

2026 Actuarial & Consulting Internship Programme, Edinburgh

Length of programme: 9 weeks starting Monday 29 June 2026 - Friday 21 August 2026 (this is a fixed programme date)

Location: Edinburgh

Entry requirements:

  • To apply for this role, you need to be in your penultimate year of full-time university.
  • Our internship programmes are a pathway to our graduate programmes. Therefore you will need to be graduating and available to start full time in September 2027.
  • We are open to applications from those studying any subject. As this is a pathway to the graduate programme where you will be expected to study towards the actuarial exams.
  • If you have studied a non-numerical degree subject, we will require you to have obtained a Maths A-level at B or higher or within an equivalent qualification.
  • You will be required to demonstrate strong mathematical skills and a keen interest in financial concepts at different stages of your application process.
  • We are not able to provide visa sponsorship for this position and therefore you will need to be able to work in the UK without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Working in our Pensions Actuarial & Consulting team at Isio:

Balancing the costs and risks of a pension scheme while meeting best practice governance requirements is becoming increasingly complex yet essential for success.

An actuarial career in pensions requires a high level of numeracy and communication skills, along with the enthusiasm and drive needed to gain professional qualifications.

What you will be doing:

During your internship, you will develop analytical skills while observing how we effectively consult for our clients. You will be involved in:

  • Calculation work on an individual member or company basis.
  • Building financial models involving statistical methods.
  • Drafting communication materials.
  • Identifying and researching business opportunities.
  • Sharing knowledge with colleagues to continuously improve our service.

Isio’s aim is to recognise Summer interns who apply themselves. Strong performance in your internship will lead to you being offered a Graduate Analyst role in our Actuarial & Consulting team upon completing university.
