Looking to make an impact on a dynamic portfolio labeled a “Strategic Priority” for Liberty Mutual? The NAS Financial Lines and Cyber team is looking for a dedicated individual to lead pricing for the NAS Cyber Portfolio and support other Financial Lines products.
This front-line role works directly with Underwriting, Claims, Data Science, and aligned Global partners to evaluate current portfolio profitability, determine optimal strategies for growth, and assess adequate pricing levels. Show initiative and show up for a team that plans to almost double premium over the next five years.
- Supporting pricing of and become a trusted advisor to US Cyber and Financial Lines profit centers for North America Specialty.
- Portfolio analysis: in-depth reviews of the portfolio’s composition and profitability; participation in discussions with lead Underwriters and Claims personnel regarding profitability and strategic direction; clear communication of results of actuarial analyses to underwriters, finance, management, and claims personnel.
- Rating models: support implementation of Global Cyber rating model, maintenance and enhancement of existing models and development of new models as necessary, including periodic data-driven reviews of pricing parameters.
- Develop a consistent set of monitoring tools to assess the profitability of the business with a goal to provide timely and actionable insights.
- Integration of analytical models into actuarial analyses to drive business profitability.
- Participation in the reinsurance placement process as necessary.
- Responding to ad hoc analysis requests from Underwriting, Claims, IT, and senior management.
- Retrieves, understands and manipulates data as it relates to assigned and related projects while maintaining clear and concise documentation of methods and activities.
- If applicable, positive progress towards pursuing and passing of required actuarial exams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Associateship or Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS/FCAS) or in Society of Actuaries (ASA/FSA) designation preferred or comparable education/designation with relevant experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience required.
- Sound knowledge of actuarial techniques and standards, as well as other business operations including financial, underwriting, legal, statistics, claims, sales, etc.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and interact effectively with others within and outside the organization.
- Ability to motivate and mentor peers and motivate and train subordinates.
- Advanced computing skills (MS Office Excel, SAS, etc.) with ability to build complex models.
