Corporate Actuarial Senior Analyst
About the role:
- Quarterly reserving and reporting processes.
- Perform China GAAP/CROSS reporting with supervision from SMEs within BM-A China team.
- Monitor, project and communicate performance of the assigned business portfolio.
- Prepare for accounting and solvency changes.
- Enhance quarterly valuation model and process with appropriate control.
- Support valuation process and system implementation for future readiness of BM-A function.
- Propose assumptions and modelling of various policy features for new or existing treaties.
- Perform Model Point Creation, Profile Creation or Sampling where appropriate for overall quality improvement of valuation.
- Coordinate with teams outside the valuation team to proactively manage Data Flow, NB volumes, CoB and Close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in carrying out assumption reviews for the portfolio or loss ratio studies.
- Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position.
About the team:
Reporting to Corporate Actuary, Life & Health ("L&H") Actuarial Management China, you will be primarily responsible for the activities of Valuation & Analysis in China. The Actuarial Management team is part of Group Risk Management in Swiss Re, responsible for managing the in-force business and supporting Swiss Re's L&H business by providing financial information and advice on past and expected future profitability and experience.
This team works closely with other departments in Asia's L&H Community, including those in business origination functions and those in in-force portfolio management functions.
The successful candidate will need to proactively liaise with cross-functional teams and foster a strong team culture to drive delivery of the overall in-force management mandate.
About you:
- Around 3 or more years of proven experience in Actuarial tasks.
- Advanced actuarial student.
- Prior experience on Swiss Re systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work accurately and deliver in a timely manner.
- Must be able to interpret business specifications and ask clarifying questions.
- Strong data organization and analysis skills.
- Keeps team tasks on track and highlights issues in a timely manner.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Exposure to insurance or reinsurance actuarial processes.
- Proficient in MS Excel; knowledge of MS Access, SQL, R programming, and Python would be considered an advantage.
