As an Associate Director in our team, you'll work closely alongside Partners, Directors, and Senior Managers and play a key role in influencing and shaping the strategic direction and development of the team. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Demonstrate your leadership capabilities to effectively manage diverse teams, fostering an inclusive culture.
  • Support the leadership of client engagements and develop strong long-term client relationships as a trusted business advisor in the General Insurance sector.
  • Develop propositions and support the growth of our business.
  • Leverage existing relationships and develop new ones with clients, identifying new opportunities for Deloitte.
  • Play an active role in the recruitment and career development of junior team members.

You will have responsibility for:

  • Building out Deloitte’s offerings across insurance audit, independent reserve reviews, M&As, and transformation.
  • Managing client projects, ensuring timely delivery and high quality of outputs.
  • Defining client deliverables, plans, and approaches.
  • Managing teams of junior staff as part of a larger project.
  • Having client contact, leading meetings, and working on client sites.
  • Working with a range of Deloitte’s technology and vendor alliances.
  • Supporting business development and taking accountability for a sub-area of practice management roles.

Our practice has both breadth and technical depth, which is increasingly important in an ever-changing general insurance landscape. You can expect to be involved in a wide variety of assignments. UK Personal & Commercial lines and/or London Market and prior consulting experience is particularly desirable.

The key services you will be involved in include:

  • External Audit Reserving across UK and global personal and commercial businesses.

You are likely to be involved in:

  • Independent reserve reviews.
  • M&A due diligence and transactions advisory.
  • Internal audit support.
  • Other expert and advisory work.

In addition, you could be involved in projects such as:

  • Underwriting & Pricing Transformation.
  • Actuarial, Finance, Capital, and Business Partnering transformation.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

Essential:

  • Qualified Actuary or equivalent via experience.
  • Experience in the UK non-life insurance industry.
  • Strong reserving background, including experience across several lines.
  • Knowledge of Solvency II/UK, IFRS17.
  • Some capital modelling experience.
  • Ability to apply knowledge in practical and commercial situations.
  • Track record of completing packages of work or small projects successfully.
  • Team management experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Practising Certificate (Chief Actuary or Lloyds Signing Actuary, dependent on industry focus and level of experience).
