How you will create an impact

  • Lead the development and maintenance of catastrophe frameworks, coordinate the non-natural catastrophe parameterisation for the internal model, and conduct periodic class of business risk assessments.
  • Have overall responsibility for the delivery of the scheduled and ad hoc regulatory deliverables.
  • Take a lead role in overseeing consistency and standardisation of aggregate data entry across the business, focusing on non-natural catastrophe exposed classes.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of catastrophe frameworks and ensure that these are embedded in the wider team’s work.
  • Take ownership of the procedural documentation for the Exposure Management team.
  • Deliver class of business risk assessments in line with the agreed schedule and track progress against any actions assigned by the Aggregation Risk Committee.
  • Oversee the timely delivery of regulatory returns, including coordination of related activities (timetabling, prioritisation, contribution from team and stakeholder engagement).
  • Support the wider team in establishing and reviewing views of risk and risk appetites.
  • Feed into development/validation activities (including linkage into AIG group work streams).

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Experience in the insurance industry within the exposure management space (preferably 8+ years).
  • Experience of coordinating and overseeing regulatory returns.
  • Ability to work across departments including Underwriting, Actuarial Pricing, and Capital Modelling to ensure non-natural catastrophe risk is managed and represented appropriately and consistently.
  • Deep understanding and experience interacting with main vendors.
  • Degree in a relevant subject (preferable but not necessary if skills demonstrated elsewhere).
  • Effective communicator/influencer with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a team, multi-task, and prioritise with limited guidance.
  • Ability to work well with other teams; commitment to get things done on time, across various teams.
  • Strong technical understanding and problem-solving ability.
