Actuarial Analyst, South Korea

AIG's Corporate Actuarial team plays a critical role in supporting AIG Korea's insurance operations through accurate valuation and assumption setting. The team works closely with various stakeholders such as finance, product development, ERM, and external auditors to ensure compliance and business insight.

How you will create an impact

  • Support financial closings under IFRS4 and IFRS17 for long-duration insurance contracts
  • Contribute to K-ICS valuation for short-duration insurance and IR rate risk calculations
  • Perform assumption setting, especially for lapse rates, and updates assumptions regularly
  • Prepare documentation and evidence for internal/external audit and regulatory filing (e.g., FSS, KIDI)
  • Participate in assumption governance, experience analysis, and actuarial process improvement initiatives
  • Generate new ideas for creative and innovative value propositions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, finance, ERM) to support reporting processes

What you’ll need to succeed

  • 4+ years of experience in actuarial valuation, financial reporting, or assumption setting for life or health insurance
  • Solid understanding of IFRS17 and K-ICS frameworks
  • Strong modeling and analytical skills; experience with actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, R3S) is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills in Korean; English proficiency is a plus
  • Collaborative and proactive mindset, with the ability to manage tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
