Senior Actuarial Analyst

Job Description

This role provides a great opportunity to gain experience in reinsurance pricing and modeling. You will apply analytic skills to support and influence business decisions in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

You will join a skilled and talented team supporting the US Casualty Underwriting group. Your responsibilities will include pricing treaties, identifying key performance drivers, conducting market studies, updating pricing parameters, and assisting with ad hoc actuarial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with US casualty underwriters to analyze and price reinsurance contracts.
  • Quantify the impact of contract features and provide an understanding of the key risk loss drivers.
  • Advise underwriters on key pricing-related issues.
  • Perform market studies to stay on top of key emerging trends.
  • Participate in projects to update pricing parameters including loss trends, rate changes, and loss development factors.
  • Assist in studies to improve pricing methodology and enhance the efficiency of pricing processes.
  • Apply sound actuarial judgment to help achieve long-term profitability for US casualty and SCOR.
  • Participate in broker and client visits, audits, and renewal meetings.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Engineering, or another STEM discipline.
  • 3+ years of insurance or reinsurance pricing experience preferred.
  • Experience with Umbrella, Excess Casualty, General Liability, and Commercial Auto lines is a plus.
  • Passed at least 4 Actuarial Exams; working towards ACAS and FCAS credentials.
  • Skilled in Excel and SQL; experience with R, Python, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; highly motivated.
  • Collaborative team player able to work well with diverse groups.
  • Effective written and verbal communication; can explain complex topics simply.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Relocation assistance within the U.S. is available for this position.

Employees work 3 days per week in an office with the flexibility to work 2 days per week remotely.

Pay Range: For roles performed in IL: $112,500-$137,500 base salary per year. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including location, experience, role, and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement saving plan, paid holidays, and paid time off.
