Role Value Proposition
Responsible for USGAAP reporting and analysis in the Malaysia Center of Excellence (CoE) for the assigned Local Business Units (LBU): Japan/Korea. Collaborates with the LBU on related business concerns and drives continuous improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for USGAAP actuarial financial reporting (e.g. DAC, VOBA) for assigned LBU and feed journal entry support information to Controllers group.
- Interfaces with LBU to understand requirements and leads the delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Collaborates with peers to fully understand the needs and issues related to assigned LBU.
- Assists LBU to address questions from auditors and regional office.
- Executes and improves existing controls on the reporting process.
- Assists team lead to plan, organize, and coordinate the tasks assigned.
- Identifies potential process enhancement opportunities and executes the necessary changes.
- Identifies and discusses with manager on potential individual development opportunities.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:
- Bachelor degree in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science and 2 years working experience.
- Good progress in SOA Actuarial Examination.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to analyze, interpret, and address customer needs.
- Experience on actuarial and coding software such as Python, Prophet, or Axis is useful.
