Associate Actuarial Analyst
About the Role
This position is part of the Regulatory Operations Actuarial Services Unit (ASU). The ASU supports actuarial pricing analytics and regulatory rate compliance for Swiss Re's Corporate Solutions Market Unit U.S. and Canada various product offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare state specific rate filings as per the state regulatory requirements.
- Automate processes to simplify tasks and drive improvements.
- Perform actuarial pricing tasks (rate review, rate impact etc.) of a well-defined process nature.
- Perform compliance audits on the rates being charged by the business versus filed rates.
- Apply technical knowledge and process skills to solve problems and develop solutions, i.e. investigating data issues and reconciliation.
- Support work on actuarial analytics projects such as competitor product analysis.
- Ensure operations are implemented according to internal guidelines and best practices.
- Help develop, review and support U.S. regulatory laws regarding filings.
- Conduct ad hoc work within the regulatory and actuarial areas like development of new rating analysis, data analysis, create reports, support of costing model parameters, etc.

About You
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in Science (Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, etc.) with a solid numerical, mathematical, statistical or similar background.
- Interest in designing, specifying, implementing and testing product rating functionality in IT systems according to business requirements.
- Sound conceptual capabilities, strong analytical and data organization skills, and very detail-oriented.
- Committed to working towards membership in Casualty Actuarial Society along with willingness and ability to achieve an Actuarial qualification is an advantage but not required.
- Strong Excel skills with proficiency in SQL, R, Power BI, VBA, and MS Access.
- Capable of understanding and prioritizing business requirements, evaluating different implementation options, and translating them into viable IT solutions.
- Solid problem-solving capabilities.
- Accomplished interpersonal and communication skills with a clear and articulate standard of written and verbal English communication.
- Interested in working in an international, multicultural, and complex environment.
- Works well in both a virtual and office team environment with diverse partners spread across the world.
- Naturally looks to identify, encourage, and accommodate different points of views.
- Project management skills and experiences would be an advantage.
- Ability to work accurately and deliver to deadlines.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $66,000 to $116,000. The specific salary offered will take into account a number of factors including job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity, specialization, scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
