Senior Actuarial Analyst I

Time Type: Full time

The Opportunity:

This role will provide pricing support to Casualty-centric business units including QBE North America's Specialty Casualty and Construction segments. This will include providing direct assistance in pricing review of individual accounts and selection of account specific loss targets.

This individual will also support analysis across the QBENA Casualty portfolio, including maintenance and construction of pricing databases/pipelines, pricing and portfolio reviews, and other projects in support of the pricing function as needed.

  • Location: New York City, NY / Atlanta, GA / Sun Prairie, WI / Chicago, IL
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days in the office)
  • The salary range for this role is between $88,000 - $165,000 depending on experience and geography

Your new role:

  • Review account pricing tools to ensure the correct application of filed rating plans, proprietary pricing models, and account-specific loss projections.
  • Support senior pricing actuaries in preparing exhibits to support account specific loss forecasts.
  • Support the buildout of pricing data pipelines, including helping to source internal data and rater inputs for future analysis.
  • Support portfolio analysis, including profitability studies, severity and loss cost estimation, and trend studies.
  • Other support activities as required by business needs.

Work Experience:

Necessary Work Experience includes:

  • 2-5 years experience in an actuarial function including pricing, reserving, ECM, analytics, etc.
  • Strong Excel skills and exposure to SQL/Python/other programmatic backgrounds.
  • Background in or desire to work closely with front line pricing actuaries and underwriters.

Preferred Work Experience includes:

  • Exposure to US Casualty lines including Auto, GL, Umbrella, Excess, or Workers Comp.
  • Experience with individual account pricing support.

Qualifications:

Necessary Qualifications include:

  • Successful completion of at least 4 CAS/SOA exams and commitment to pursuing ACAS/FCAS.
  • Undergraduate degree or combination of work experience demonstrating a proficiency in actuarial science.

Compensation Package:

The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience.

Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
