Reinsurance Pricing Actuary
Job Description
As a Reinsurance Pricing Actuary at SCOR, you’ll collaborate closely with underwriting teams. Your primary focus will be on assessing risk for reinsurance contracts across various markets.
You’ll provide structural advice, technical support, and innovative ideas to enhance pricing methodology. Regularly reviewing pricing adequacy, you’ll take action to improve it when necessary.
Additionally, you’ll develop line-of-business-specific pricing apps and contribute pricing analytics insights. Your expertise in statistical computing (Python), machine learning models, and clear communication will be essential.
Responsibilities
- Secure understanding of risk through unbiased, technical risk assessment of reinsurance across assigned markets. Give structural advice, provide technical support, and contribute with new ideas.
- Strengthen pricing excellence by continuously enhancing pricing methodology for designated lines of business.
- Regularly review pricing adequacy of all assigned portfolios through suitable pricing intelligence standards. Initiate actions to improve pricing adequacy, if necessary.
- Establish advanced line-of-business-specific pricing apps (if relevant), supplementary to standard corporate pricing tools.
- Contribute to client meetings with pricing analytics insights and represent SCOR at industry events.
Qualifications
- In-depth reinsurance pricing experience gained through three to five years of pricing activities at a global reinsurer. Pricing experience in various lines of business.
- Strong programming skills in Python and statistical computing. Experience applying machine learning models in actuarial or insurance contexts is highly desirable.
- Clear communicator. Ability to take complex methods, analysis, and ideas and communicate effectively to a broad variety of stakeholders.
- Able to withstand pressure and to complete tasks within deadlines. Brings a positive attitude to address challenges.
- Fully qualified actuary in a globally recognized actuarial body.
- Ideally exposure to working in multiple geographies.
- Studies in actuarial science or equivalent.
