The Opportunity:

Future focused and always one step ahead!

This Actuary role will have a significant leadership role in the modernization pricing tools across Munich Re Specialty – North America. This role will focus on the development of new pricing tools and drive interconnectivity to other platforms across the organization.

In this position you will:

  • Lead the development of new pricing tools, leveraging expertise in actuarial techniques and code development.
  • Guide conversations with other technical departments to revamp the underwriting process and tools across the organization.
  • Partner with actuarial colleagues, Underwriting, IT, and Operations to develop our next generation of pricing capabilities.
  • Drive commonality between other business units within Munich Re Specialty – North America as well as other Munich Re entities.
  • Work with Underwriting to achieve our organizations’ goals.
  • Support the launch of new products and expand the capabilities of existing products in property, casualty, professional liability, and specialty lines of business.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in insurance pricing, reinsurance, or actuarial work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Membership in the Casualty Actuarial Society as Associate (ACAS) or Fellow (FCAS).
  • Experience developing pricing tools, especially in a cloud-based platform.
  • Strong, relevant experience in R, Python, SAS, or other statistical software in insurance pricing applications, with Python experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and negotiate with others.
  • Ability to introduce and drive innovative ideas and processes within established environments.
  • Ability to present and explain complex details to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

The base salary range anticipated for this position is $141,800-$226,100, plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
